Mosaic vai distribuir 10 mil testes PCR

Segundo o jornal Valor Econômico, o Instituto Mosaic vai disponibilizar, por meio do Instituto Mosaic, 10 mil testes do tipo PCR para ajudar na confirmação de casos de covid-19. O Instituto é ligado à Mosaic Fertilizantes, uma das maiores produtoras de fertilizantes fosfatados e potássicos do mundo. Esta ação tem como parceira a Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM) e a Fundação de Ensino e Pesquisa de Uberaba (Funepu). O método fornece os resultados em até 24 horas e dispensa a necessidade de contraprova.
A parceria faz parte do investimento de R$ 4,5 milhões anunciado pela empresa no Brasil, que também contempla a distribuição de produtos de limpeza e higiene, kits médicos, equipamentos de proteção e cestas básicas para famílias em situação de vulnerabilidade social.
O laboratório da UFTM é homologado para a realização dos exames e a compra dos insumos ajudará a reduzir a demanda dos demais laboratórios públicos que também estão trabalhando para diagnosticar os pacientes. Os exames serão realizados nas instalações da universidade. Os testes serão disponibilizados para a região do Triângulo Sul, que inclui 30 municípios, como Uberaba, Araxá, Tapira, entre outros.
Segundo Virmondes Rodrigues Junior, coordenador do projeto na UFTM, a ideia é entregar cerca de 500 testes por semana. “Uma das medidas mais eficazes para o controle da progressão do novo coronavírus é a possibilidade de um exame de alta qualidade com resultados rápidos. Nunca tivemos uma doação com um aporte tão significativo e, no momento em que vivemos, fundamental”, afirmou, em nota.
Paulo Eduardo Batista, diretor de performance social da empresa, disse que a iniciativa visa apoiar o sistema público de saúde. “ Esperamos que esta parceria fortaleça a comunidade de toda a região no combate ao covid-19”, afirmou.
