Começa em Curitiba 44º Congresso Brasileiro de Geologia

O presidente da CPRM – Serviço Geológico do Brasil, Agamenon Dantas, o secretário Nacional de Geologia, Mineração e Transformação Mineral, Cláudio Scliar, o diretor de Exploração e Produção da Petrobras, Guilherme Estrella e o governador do Paraná em exercício, Orlando Pessuti, foram algumas das autoridades que prestigiaram a solenidade de abertura do 44ºCongresso Brasileiro de Geologia, realizada neste domingo (26/10) em Curitiba.Para o presidente da comissão organizadora do evento, Eduardo Salamuni, o encontro de mais de dois mil profissionais e estudantes da área é de fundamental importância, visto que é preciso debater formas das geociências ajudarem as gerações futuras a enfrentar desafios como os ambientais. “Aproveitaremos esta oportunidade para discutir maneiras de crescimento sustentável, a grande demanda atual de mercado por profissionais de Geologia, bem como o papel do geólogo frente ao futuro da sociedade”, disse.O diretor de Exploração e Produção da Petrobras, Guilherme Estrella, mencionou a atual experimentação do Brasil referente à retomada no desenvolvimento nacional, com reflexos profundos na área da mineração e exploração, além das novas descobertas da empresa. “Nos deparamos com uma imensa riqueza petrolífera que contribui com a segurança energética brasileira, descobertas como o pré-sal, que são produto do trabalho do geólogo e que possibilitarão ao governo federal um planejamento estratégico a longo prazo”, citou.Em seguida, o secretário Nacional de Geologia, Mineração e Transformação Mineral, Cláudio Scliar (presente no Congresso representando o Ministro de Minas e Energia, Edson Lobão), traçou um panorama bastante positivo acerca da profissão e da realidade econômica brasileira, mesmo passando por um conturbado período de crise mundial. “Desde 2003 estamos efetuando uma retomada dos levantamentos geológicos do País, tornando o ambiente de trabalho e devidas ferramentas mais modernas, investindo em uma Geologia que sirva ao Brasil e que independa dos altos e baixos dos preços dos commodities”, disse. “É importante acompanhar o mercado financeiro, mas nossas políticas têm a ver com uma perspectiva de soberania nacional, para que o aproveitamento das riquezas minerais tragam um retorno à população”, ressaltou, citando a ocorrência da crise como catalisador do papel do Estado como responsável por fomentar, apoiar e melhor aproveitar os recursos nacionais.Por fim, o governador em exercício, Orlando Pessuti, lembrou do papel fundamental do geólogo para o desenvolvimento da sociedade, ainda mais em um mundo que deixa de ser rural e passa a ser urbano, com mais de 50% da população mundial vivendo nas cidades. “A presença do geólogo é imprescindível na hora de planejar os municípios, de efetuar o zoneamento urbano, e também no momento de traçar metas relacionadas ao aproveitamento da prospecção mineral e nas formas de mineração responsável”.A solenidade foi encerrada às 21h30, para retomada das atividades na segunda-feira (27/10), às 8h30. Destaque do dia para as conferências ministradas pelo diretor executivo do comitê do AIPT-UNESCO/ONU, omamericano Eduardo de Mulder (às 12h) e a conferência magna feita pelo geólogo curitibano João José Bigarella (falando sobre a visão geocientífica acerca das mudanças climáticas), às 18h30.O 44º Congresso Brasilerio de Geologia é promovido pela Sociedade Brasileira de Geologia-Núcleo PR até 31/10 (sexta-feira), no Estação Embratel Convention Center.
