Boas oportunidades continuam abertas

São Paulo, 1 de Dezembro de 2008 – A crise, definitivamente, ainda não atingiu o mercado de trabalho brasileiro. Os dados mais recentes revelam que a taxa de desemprego caiu de setembro para outubro, atingindo o menor patamar para esse mês desde 1998. E, ao que tudo indica, a turbulência financeira global tampouco afetou as vagas destinadas ao alto escalão empresarial. Diversas empresas e consultorias afirmam que o nível de contratação, que bateu recordes até agosto, continua elevado, sem dar sinal de desaquecimento repentino.
“As empresas estão olhando para o curto prazo, mas também para o longo. Elas estão atentas à turbulência, mas não temos visto cancelamento de investimentos”, diz Karin Parodi, sócia-diretora da consultoria Career Center. A realidade é que diversos setores continuam atraentes para os gestores. São áreas que mantiveram um bom nível de atividade e que, por isso, precisam de profissionais capacitados para gerenciar suas operações.
No setor de tecnologia da informação (TI), por exemplo, continua acirrada a disputa por profissionais. Basta ver o caso do atual diretor de educação à distância (EAD) da Veris Educacional, Carlos Longo, que até outubro era vice-presidente da Whitney, companhia-norte-americana que desenvolve modelos de EAD. O executivo foi o responsável por todo o projeto de educação à distância da empresa para a América Latina e Ásia.
“O que vamos fazer na Veris é definir quais serão as tecnologias usadas de acordo com o público que temos”, explica. A empresa, mantenedora de instituições de ensino como Ibmec e IBTA, está de olho no crescente número de estudantes de graduação que utilizam o ensino à distância. Segundo Longo, faltam no mercado executivos que conheçam tecnologia em profundidade e ao mesmo tempo saibam aplicá-la ao negócio. “Quem é puro administrador precisa adquirir conhecimento na gestão de projetos e sistema. O gestor, hoje, tem que aprender um pouco sobre TI. Isso é mandatário”, afirma.
De acordo com o diretor da filial São Paulo da consultoria de recrutamento Robert Half, Fernando Mantovani, as empresas estão cada vez maiores e, por isso, buscam instalar sistemas integrados de gestão empresarial, mais conhecidos pela sigla ERP. “Isso tem gerado uma demanda grande por profissionais, sem contar a importância da internet. Todas as companhias têm, hoje, sites e processos eletrônicos que utilizam a rede”, destaca. Já Karin, da Career Center, acrescenta que a área ainda está concentrada no Estado de São Paulo.
Outro setor de destaque para os gestores de alto nível é o petrolífero. De acordo com Mantovani, há empresas internacionais aportando no País de olho nos novos campos que estão sendo descobertos. “O setor de óleo e gás tem demandado grande quantidade de profissionais, muito além do que se imaginava”, diz. Os recursos naturais brasileiros também têm impulsionado carreiras até pouco tempo consideradas menos promissoras pelo mercado. Este é o caso da profissão de geólogo. Eles estão sendo literalmente disputados por companhias de mineração e siderurgia.
“Os segmentos de energia são muito promissores. Tanto o de derivados de petróleo quando o de energia renováveis”, garante Fábio Pereira , diretor da Michael Page, empresa de recrutamento de executivos para média e alta gerência. Segundo Karin, as áreas ligadas ao meio ambiente estão crescendo muito, o que impulsiona a produção de combustíveis menos poluentes.
O coro é reforçado por Mantovani, que também garante que o setor de biocombustíveis está se tornando atrativo para os gestores. “Basta ver a profissionalização das usinas [de álcool] e o crescimento das empresa do setor, que tornaram o negócio altamente rentável. O Brasil cada vez mais é visto como um exportador de biocombustível”, observa.
Porém, o consultor da Robert Half faz uma ressalva: o segmento está sendo afetado pelo crise de crédito internacional. Mas, mesmo assim, deverá viver uma nova onda de fusões e continuar em acelerado ritmo de profissionalização. Vale acrescentar que a defesa do meio ambiente e o crescimento da economia também impulsionou a carreira de engenheiro florestal.
O setor de construção é outro que tem apresentado boas oportunidades profissionais. “O Brasil tem um grande déficit nessa área, tanto de residências quando de infra-estrutura. Esses dois segmentos estão se desenvolvendo bastante e, por isso, demandando gestores”, sustenta Pereira.
E mesmo com a crise, as empresas ligadas ao mercado financeiro continuam sendo boas opções de carreira, afirmam os especialistas. Para Mantovani os bancos nacionais tem crescido muito, principalmente devido à expansão do mercado de crédito. “Claro que as últimas semanas não foram as melhores para o setor, mas muitas instituições internacionais vieram e ainda virão para o País”, diz.
Sem revelar nomes, ele conta que duas empresas estrangeiras do ramo, que tinham a intenção de realizar contratações no Brasil, resolveram adiar seus planos. Para ele, a situação indica cautela, não cortes. O que a crise tem provocado é uma maior demanda por profissionais que atuem na área de risco de mercado. “Eles estão sendo e serão demandados nos próximos meses”, completa.
