Projeto Amapá deve operar só em 2009

A Anglo Ferrous Brazil, responsável pelas operações de mineração vendidas pela MMX à Anglo American, informou que o Projeto Amapá deverá operar plenamente apenas no final de 2009. O grupo anunciou também que o início das operações do projeto Minas-Rio ocorrerá em 2011, e não mais em 2010, devido a atrasos na concessão da licença ambiental para a mina em Conceição do Mato Dentro.Em fato relevante enviado à Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM), na quinta-feira, a Anglo afirmou que detalhou a situação dos projetos desenvolvidos pelas suas subsidiárias para dar transparência e, portanto, permitir que os acionistas tomem decisão fundamentada em relação à oferta de ações (IPO) realizada na sexta-feira.Para levar o projeto Minas-Rio adiante, a Anglo mantém contrato de empréstimo com o Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) de R$ 2,3 bilhões, que serão utilizados na compra de equipamentos da mina e do minerioduto. Ainda assim, a empresa admite que a licença ambiental não será obtida conforme o cronograma inicial.Com relação às operações no Amapá, a Anglo afirmou que, junto com sua parceira Cliff Natural Resources, tem buscado soluções para assegurar que o ritmo da produção seja acelerado o quanto antes. “O ramp up das operações foi significativamente mais lento do que o previsto – a capacidade plena de produção só será alcançada no final de 2009”, diz a nota. derivativos.
