Strengthening collaboration between the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM) and the International Mining and Metals Council (ICMM) towards a more sustainable future for the sector was the main focus of the meeting between IBRAM’s CEO, Raul Jungmann , and ICMM CEO Rohitesh Dhawan. The meeting took place in London, last Wednesday (17/8).
According to the CEO of IBRAM, it is essential that both entities collaborate to promote a sector that is constantly engaged and proactive in relation to environmental and social issues, thus seeking to expand its positive impact on society.
Raul Jungmann also emphasized that the close partnership with ICMM allows Brazil to effectively participate in global discussions of great importance for the progress of the national industry. Additionally, he invited Rohitesh Dhawan to participate in the next IBRAM events: the Brazilian Mining Expo & Congress (EXPOSIBRAM 2024) in Belo Horizonte, from September 9th to 12th, and the second edition of the International Conference Amazonia and New Economies, in Belém , from November 6th to 8th.
According to Rohitesh Dhawan “it was an honor to welcome Raul Jungmann to the ICMM headquarters in London. Like ICMM, it and IBRAM are examples of dedication to making mining increasingly responsible. We immensely value the relationship with the Institute and are grateful to Raul’s leadership.”
