In Chile, IBRAM, Sonami and Prochile evaluate Brazilian and Chilean mining scenarios

The current scenario of the Brazilian and Chilean mineral sector was the subject of a meeting between the director-president of the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM), Raul Jungmann, the general manager of the National Mining Society (Sonami), Richard Araya Silva, and the director- general of ProChile, Ignacio Fernández Ruiz, in Santiago, Chile. IBRAM’s Communications director, Paulo Henrique Soares, and Sonami’s deputy manager of Studies, and Sonami’s Corporate Relations and Sustainability manager, Carolina Vásquez Muñoz, also participated.
The meeting was marked by a profound exchange of ideas and experiences between representatives of the two countries. Raul Jungmann brought to light the importance of sustainability and technological innovation in mining. Among the main topics discussed were the implementation of even more sustainable practices by the industry, the impact of climate change on mining and the importance of the sector for the global energy transition. The leaders also discussed the role of public policies and regulations in promoting a more responsible and innovative sector.
Jungmann also met with the vice-president of the Association of Industrial Mining Providers (APRIMIN), Ricardo Garib, and the Studies and Projects manager, Jorge Bravo Alfaro.
IBRAM’s visit to the Chilean country is part of a mission organized by the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) to boost economic integration and regional cooperation.05
