St George is the newest member of the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM). The company is developing the Araxá Project, which stands out for its dual-commodity operations. In addition to rare earth elements, the project includes high-quality niobium, contributing to its operational and economic viability.
Located in the mining town of Araxá, in the Alto Paranaíba region, St. George is situated in an area with a long tradition in mining, offering consolidated infrastructure and a skilled workforce. Economic studies are underway to confirm the technical and economic potential of the Araxá Project, designed as a world-class niobium and rare earth operation with an estimated lifespan exceeding 20 years.
With these advantages, St George attracted strategic investors, such as the Australian company Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd — the largest shareholder of MP Materials (owner of the Mountain Pass rare earth mine in the United States) and Lynas (owner of the Mt Weld rare earth mine in Australia), the two largest producers of rare earths outside of China. The project also sparked interest in long-term supply contracts with North American companies, such as REalloys, which operates from mining to magnet production, as well as end customers in Europe and Asia.
Currently in the licensing phase, the Araxá Project has a team of experienced professionals with extensive knowledge of the local geology. From the initial studies, the company's guiding principle has been to generate value for all stakeholders, especially the population of Araxá. In addition to hiring local employees and suppliers, St George launched the ASA – Araxá Socio-environmental Action social project. The Araxá Project is expected to begin operations in 2028.
Listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX:SGQ) and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FSE:SOG) in Germany, St George focuses on the production and development of the supply chain of essential minerals for the energy transition.
