Map IBRAM

O IBRAM MAP® IT'S ON AIR!

O MAPA IBRAM® consolidates itself as the most comprehensive and strategic public geospatial intelligence platform for Brazilian mining., projecting internationally a structured, up-to-date, and data-driven vision of the country's mineral sector.

Launched in January 2025, MAPA IBRAM® celebrates its first year, reaching 180 views and significantly expanding its information base.

The interactive tool – hosted on Google MyMaps® – has been expanded and technically revised, incorporating new projects, mines and companies, as well as improving the strategic organization of the data.

The IBRAM® MAP brings together georeferenced information structured under a market intelligence approach, grouping mines and projects according to strategic thematic areas: Energy Transition and Decarbonization; Fertilizers and Remineralizers (food security); Gold; Iron; Aggregates and Other Mineral Resources.

In this update, the platform identifies:

  • 1.051 active mines
  • 465 projects in different stages of development
  • 1068 mining companies, of which 86 are associated with IBRAM

Among the active operations, 1024 companies operate open-pit mines, 32 operate in underground mining, and 6 develop both mining methods.

This update includes aggregates for civil construction — sand, crushed stone, and gravel — from companies associated with state unions and ANEPAC (National Association of Entities of Producers of Aggregates for Civil Construction).

The MAPA IBRAM® also highlights the presence of companies listed on international stock exchanges with operations in Brazil. For these companies, the platform provides supplementary information on corporate size, listing exchange, and respective trading code (ticker), increasing transparency and strategic analysis of the sector from a capital market perspective.

Currently, they have been identified 123 listed companies with operations in the country, distributed in 26 stock exchanges around the world, being

  • 28 Majors (23%),
  • 2 Mid-tiers (2%) e
  • 93 Juniors (74%).

Navigation on Google Maps can be done by commodity group list, by specific mine, or by geographic region. By selecting each point on the map, the user accesses detailed information, including: thematic group, primary and secondary commodity, status (active mine or project), mining method, association with IBRAM, company headquarters, and corporate website.

It is possible to switch the map view between satellite and planimetric modes in the lower left corner, where it says "filter". This switching allows you to adapt the analysis to your needs, whether to view the actual features of the terrain or to evaluate roads, boundaries and infrastructure, enabling integrated logistics planning with the IBRAM Map.

The IBRAM® MAP also incorporates the location of 36 river and sea portsBased on data from the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (ANTAQ), this expands the perspective on the sector's logistics infrastructure.

The map does not include the following substances: clay, ornamental rocks, limestone for cement, gemstones, or mineral water, except when linked to companies associated with IBRAM.

The compilation, verification, and curation of data constitute an ongoing process, with constant updates. Contributions can be sent to ibram@ibram.org.br.

With this new phase, MAPA IBRAM® reaffirms its commitment to transparency, data governance, and the dissemination of qualified strategic information.
