Mining Hub, the World's First Mining Hub
Innovation in mining, as in any industry, does not happen through its own development in isolation. On the contrary, research centers, universities, other industries, startup companies, and governments are examples of partners developing solutions that are applied with increasing frequency and scope.
Mining companies have intensified the establishment of cross-sector cooperation groups, venture capital funds, and other collaborative ecosystems, and small and medium-sized mining companies are also taking action in developing innovative solutions to improve their production processes.
Within this context, the Brazilian mining industry innovated in the search for new solutions to its challenges with the creation of the Mining Hub – www.mininghub.com.br/pb.
This is an open innovation initiative aimed at all members of the mining supply chain, connecting mining companies, suppliers, startups, researchers, and investors, generating opportunities and connections for different mining stakeholders. Currently, there are around 50 companies associated with the initiative, which is already in its fourth cycle of challenges.
The Mining Hub acts as a counterpoint to the sector, transforming the culture and contributing to strengthening the reputation of mining. Furthermore, its operation, in a neutral and collaborative work environment aimed at knowledge exchange, intensifies connections and collaborations, promoting innovation within the sector.
